Sarah in Black and White

From our photo shoot in December, this is Sarah in black and white ... again the greyscale conversion was done with Nik Silver Efex. We wanted to separate Sarah from the dark background so we used a Nikon SB800 from behind aimed straight at the back of her head at medium ouput. Ended up using it like that for the better part of the day --- for good and bad. Light from the front was an SB900 shot through a Lastolite 24" EZYbox. I used some different postprocessing techniques on this one. The skin and face were retouched based on some things I've read recently by Joel Grimes -- noted contemporary portrait artist.

  1. Seems like a simple shot just looking at the results, but I know it took some lighting work to make this happen. Great image of Sarah. She should be happy with it.
