White Ibis along the 40 Acre Lake Trail, Brazos Bend State Park. Even after sunrise there was some nice light along the trail with some back light on this white ibis. 1/320 sec at f/6.7, 500mm, ISO 200.
I like this shot. It's not a typical capture of a White Ibis. Many shots of them are with their bill dipped into shallow water while looking for food. The head tilt is nice, good exposure here (usually hard to keep from blowing out whites) and nice background. You usually try to set them off against a darker background, but you've created enough contrast even with the backlit scene.
